How to Apply

If you would like to know more about Belmont Co-op, please contact us by phone at 617-489-3259, or by email at An Admissions committee member will respond to any questions that you may have about Belmont Co-op and arrange for a school visit. Please plan on visiting the school beginning in the fall of the year prior to enrollment. Children are welcome on these individual tours. We also hold two open houses annually, one in early October and one in January.

We will begin accepting applications for the 2018-2019 year on Saturday, November 4, 2017. To apply, please submit an application form, along with a non-refundable $50.00 application fee to:

2017-2018 Stay & Play Enrollment Form

Please mail the enrollment form to the address above along with $200 tuition fee. We need a minimum of 4 children to run the class.

Applications for new students for the 2018-2019 school year are processed on a rolling basis, in the order they are received. Enrollment is determined as space is available, with consideration given to balancing classes by gender and age. Each application will be reviewed and the family notified of acceptance within a timely manner. When a class is full, a waiting list will be established.

Tuition for the 2017-2018 school year:

3-Day Program $4,600*
4-Day Program $5,900*

*There is also a $250 enrichment fee for all classes.


Belmont Co-op admits students without regard to race, cultural heritage, religion, political beliefs, disability, sexual orientation or marital status of parents.



Age Requirements

The Belmont Cooperative Nursery School will offer four classes for students between the ages of 1 year 9 months old and 5 years old during the 2018-2019 academic year. The programs include the following:

3-Day Program

Mon-Wed-Fri, 9 a.m.-noon
OR Tue-Thu-Fri, 9 a.m.-noon

Children between the ages of 2 years, 9 months and 3 years, 11 months by Sept. 1, 2018 are eligible for these classes.

4-Day Program

Mon through Thu; 9 a.m.-noon

Children who are 4 years old by Sept. 1, 2018 are eligible for this pre-K class. In addition to the regular BCNS classroom program, the students meet off-site at the Mass Audubon Wildlife Sanc tuary in Belmont on numerous Mondays during the year.

Stay & Play Program

Wednesday, 9:15-10:45 a.m.

Children between the ages of 1 year, 9 months and 2 years, 9 months are eligible to come to this class with their caregivers. Students enroll in 10-week sessions and engage in developmentally supportive activities that promote emerging autonomy and social skills. We need a minimum of 4 children to run the class.
